In my opinion the absolute best alternative to windows native WUAUCLT commands wuauclt.exe /detectnow wuauclt.exe /resetauthorization /detectnow would be the WuInstall (Freeware) Tool. below is a download link and Basic how to on the usage of the Windows Update Install Tool. it gives you more control over your updates.     1.
